No Limit Texas Hold’em is where the player can bet to any amount and this may even mean betting all the chips that he has. An important thing when a person plays poker with no limit is he needs to bet for a double amount when compared to the previous player. The chances of winning is more when betting is done with a certain limit because in case of no limit, when a player bets his entire set of chips and if his cards are not good, then he might end up losing everything. So this also requires good amount of luck and intelligence.

Playing Tournament Style – Texas Hold’em

There are many variations of the popular game of poker, but the one that is the current raging favorite is the Texas Hold’em style. The objective of the game is for each player to win the ‘pot’, the money contributed by the players themselves towards the winnings. The game consists of two cards dealt to the players, face down and five community cards – a series of three cards called the ‘flop’ and two individual cards called the ‘turn’ and the ‘river’ respectively. The players can check the cards, fold, or bet after each time the dealer deals. A player can place his bet on the flop, on the turn or on the river in this style of poker.

The Texas Hold’em version of the poker game consists of rounds called hands or deals, where each hand is won by a single player and they get the pot of money. Other winning scenarios include a showdown, where players display their cards and the highest hand wins the pot or when the other players ‘fold’ because their cards offer no hope of winning.

As the cards are randomly dealt in this poker game the players can try and control the game in order to win the pot only by controlling the money in the pot according to the cards he has been dealt. So one should try to work out mathematically when to ‘bet’, ‘raise’, ‘call’ or ‘fold’ strategically rather than try to win every individual hand to win big at this style of poker. In the US, the game is played with no limits on the amount of betting, which enables people to earn big at this poker game. Hollywood too has featured this style of poker in its movies, contributing to its popularity.

Also due to the popularity of this game in the late 1990s and the early 2000s, this form of poker spread to the internet. As anything that catches the imagination of the public, this poker too exploded on the internet. So many sites dedicated to various forms of poker and trade magazines evolved. Now it is one of the biggest revenue spinners for different websites and gaming hosts. Sites even entice players by offering them poker bonuses for signing up to play on their sites. All these developments have resulted in poker becoming one of the best ways to relax and hangout for the general public.
